I am the great-great granddaughter to the victim of the oldest cold case in American history to which I founded FPI Justice for Victims Families, an American social justice advocacy nonprofit. I created a team of real-life investigators for helping me solve the systemic issues surrounding unresolved homicides. Because of how my family was treated, I exposed and solved my own family’s cold case. I’ve also learned while working with victims’ families of unsolved murders that dealing with the uncertainty after a loss is even more traumatizing, especially for their children. Our services not only include investigation assistance, but carefully chosen grief resources because grief support isn’t one-size-fits-all. Especially in marginalized communities. My organization strives to level the playing field and ensure that everyone has equal access to the services and resources they need. Especially in marginalized communities.
