About our Services

This article provides an overview of the National Association of Legal Investigators (NALI). It includes an overview of the organization, a review of member benefits, a list of requirements to become a member, and instructions on how to join.

About the National Association of Legal Investigators

The National Association of Legal Investigators was founded in 1967 by 35 investigators representing 15 states.

Address: PO Box 278 Bath, MI 48808

Advantages of Being a NALI Member

The most significant advantage of becoming a member of NALI is networking. The association publishes a directory with all members’ contact information, allowing you to reach out to other members in almost any state. This can be a huge help if your investigation crosses state lines or you need a local contact to do some groundwork.

How to Become a Member of the National Association of Legal Investigators

To qualify for membership, an applicant must have a minimum of twenty-four (24) months or four thousand (4,000) hours of documented employment as an investigator in these fields. The Association may consider experience obtained in parallel fields toward satisfying this requirement; however, any waiver from the requirements set forth herein should be only granted upon a full investigation of the submitted qualifications and only under exceptional circumstances.

All membership applications must be made to the NALI national office in writing on a form to be approved and provided by the Association. Each application must be accompanied by the nonrefundable application fee in the amount outlined in the Bylaws, plus annual dues as required by ARTICLE IX.

Each membership application is thoroughly investigated, and after such investigation is completed, the applicant will be notified of the acceptance or rejection of his or her membership application.
